National Student  Campaign Against Hunger and Homelessness:  Bring your canned goods to the next meeting, we will be holding a food drive.

2009  Resolve to Solve Hunger  Conference at Loyola University

-November 5-8

-Goal: Reach out to 500 students

-Free room and board

-Workshops

-Panels

-Registration fees

-$80 before 9/25

-$100 before 10/16

-$125 after 10/16

-All proceeds go to benefit this cause

-For every 5 people, 6^th is free (on same payment)

Care Packages  for Injured Soldiers and Soldiers in Combat  Abroad

-Items will be  sent to soliders in Iraq, Afghanistan  and the Landstuhl Hospital in Germany

-Please deliver items to the bridge Nov. 9^th-13^th

PBS Video  and Fundraiser

-Thursday November  19^th at 6pm to 8pm Location: TBA

-WIDE ANGLE offers a glimpse into the lives of seven extraordinary children who are struggling to get what nearly all American kids take for granted: a basic education

-Donations will be given to: (barefootcollege.org)

Operating on the principle that “solutions to rural problem lie within the community,” the organization seeks to improve, girls’ education, health & sanitation, rural unemployment, and environmental issues.

The November meeting will be on Wednesday, November 18th during lunch.  It will be the last meeting of the semester.  Location TBA.

Start collecting new/unused t-shirts and toiletry items for our Veteran’s Day drive coming up in November! We will be collecting these items to send to the soldiers overseas and making cards on Veteran’s Day, November 11th, mark your calendar!
