SWE started May 27th 1950 and participants came from a loose group of scientists and engineers. SWE’s goal was to stimulate women to achieve full potential in careers as engineers and leaders, expand the image of the engineering profession as a positive force in improving the quality of life, and demonstrate the value of diversity.
SWE is a not-for profit educational and service organization. It empowers women to succeed and advance in the field of engineering, recognizes women for their life-challenging contributions as engineers and leaders. SWE has training and development programs, networking opportunities, and advocacy activities.
I believe that the career as engineering for women strengthen her self confidence to participate actively in Nation Building. Women can challenge the male dominated careers and prove their worthiness.
